Paying Tribute We would like to pay tribute to Jim Flaherty, longtime Realtor®, former President of this Association, a good friend and a great man. Jim passed away on Thursday, May 25th. His family is not having a public service but we encourage everyone to pay tribute in their own way. |

In Memoriam We would like to extend our condolences to the Dauses Family on the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Virginia "Ginger" Baranoski on June 9th. |

2023 Legislative Session Wrap-Up! |

Our Legislative Session Wrap-Up on May 24th at the Kent Island Yacht Club was very informative and engaging! Having District 36th Sen. Steve Hershey, Del. Steve Arentz, Del Jay Jacobs, as well as District 37th Sen. John Mautz and Del. Chris Adams present was an absolute pleasure. We also heard from Lisa May, Director of Advocacy and Public Policy from MD Realtors®. Thank you to everyone that presented and attended! |

We have been informed that Anne Arundel County has passed the proposed budget which included an increase in County Transfer Taxes to 1.5% on sales over $1,000,000. Click HERE for a copy of the resolution presented during the recent session. This change takes effect July 1, 2023. We will pass along more details as they become available. |

Now is the time to STAND OUT as a real estate professional in this market!
What makes you unique? People's lives will always be transitioning so how can you put yourself in front of these families?
1. Social Media- I know this is something that's always talked about, but it truly keeps you in touch with your sphere. Make a plan to post several times a week with a video that tells a success story, the buying and selling process or even just a day in the life of a realtor. We all love real and quick videos so stick to the basics. Doesn't have to be anything fancy! 2. Give Back to the Community- Sign up for volunteer opportunities like farmer's markets, community clean ups, church events, fairs or any other local event you can be a part of. You meet new people, deepen current relationships, and it just FEELS GOOD! 3. Put in the Extra Effort-Do what others aren't doing. Door knock, make phone calls, set up coffee dates, make home visits, etc. to keep in touch |

with everyone you know. Chances are real estate will always come into the conversation so what a good time to ask for referrals in an easy and natural way.
So make it happen, because in a market like this we have to double down. We got this!
