While a prior commitment prevents me from being there in person, I strongly encourage all members to attend this important event. This is where we formally install our new slate of officers and directors, ensuring the leadership and continuity necessary for BAAR's continued success. Please join me in congratulating them and offering your full support to the incoming administration as they take the helm for the year ahead.

This meeting is also a final opportunity to connect with your peers and celebrate the achievements of 2025. 

A Message of Gratitude and Looking Ahead

Serving as your President, especially stepping into the role unexpectedly, has been a deeply rewarding experience. My deepest gratitude goes out to our dedicated Board of Directors, our active committee volunteers, our stellar professional staff and to all the membership; your active participation—from supporting our successful RPAC events to attending crucial legislative updates—is what makes this association so effective.

As the new leadership prepares to take office, we know the year ahead will bring both challenges and opportunities, particularly with the upcoming state legislative session and elections on the horizon. These events will undoubtedly shape land use policy and impact your business. Rest assured, BAAR will continue to prioritize advocacy and will work tirelessly to provide you with the resources and legislative insight you need to navigate these dynamic political and economic landscapes.

The strength of BAAR truly lies in its membership, and I leave this position confident that the association is on a very solid footing. I look forward to continuing to serve alongside you in a new capacity.

• If your BAAR dues and late fee are not paid by December 30, 2025, then we will unfortunately have to drop/cancel your BAAR membership on December 31, 2025, and mark you as “Inactive” in the NAR database.

Membership Dues Schedule and Payment Information:

• November: BAAR Primary & Secondary Memberships renew.
• January: BAAR Affiliate Memberships renew.
• March: SentriLock Memberships renew.

• BAAR does not store credit cards on file and does not offer any autopay options.
• To make a dues payment, members must pay by one of the following ways:
  • Online with a credit/debit card through their BAAR member account
  • Online with a credit/debit card by clicking the link provided on the bottom of the dues' invoice
  • Over the phone with a credit/debit card by calling the BAAR office during business hours

“Freddie Mac is expected to report that mortgage rates remained virtually unchanged this week. The average rate on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage was 6.24%, up from 6.22% the week prior, and still close to a 12-month low.  
 
Lower rates could finally be prompting some buyers to get into the market, which could lead to a surprisingly busy November and December, a time of the year when home sales activity usually slows. The Mortgage Bankers Association reported that purchase applications rose 6% last week, coming in at the highest early November level since 2022. 
 
Uncertainty is now a double-edged sword in the housing market. While economic concerns and declining consumer confidence have held many buyers back this year, the outlook for continued uncertainty in 2026 might be leading some buyers to get into the market now to take advantage of rate drops and more inventory. 
 
Recent talk from the Trump administration about 50-year mortgages and the potential for privatizing the GSEs are probably not directly driving home buyers’ decision. But the rhetoric underscores the potential for unpredictability in the housing market in the year ahead.” Read more here.
