President's Message
Hello everyone. If it’s a bit of a surprise to find the president’s message coming from me, rest assured that I wasn’t expecting to be writing it either. However, due to other obligations Janice Hariadi made the difficult decision to step down as BAAR president, and I am stepping in to complete the balance of her term.
First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Janice for her dedicated service and hard work on behalf of the Association and its members. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors. I also want to reassure everyone that the Association remains on very strong footing, and I am confident in our future.

A key part of that strength is our dedicated staff and as such I am proud to announce our two new hires, Erin Miller as our new Association Coordinator and Jen Gloede as our Education Coordinator. Please be sure to welcome them when you see them at the BAAR office or at a class or event.
While the future presents some uncertainties, including an evolving political landscape at the federal level and recent state legislative changes, please know that your Association, along with Maryland Realtors and NAR, is committed to providing you with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate everything that is to come and continuing to advocate for Realtor interests and housing that is both affordable and available. Our goal is to ensure your continued success in your business and to uphold the quality service and personal connection that define us as Realtors.

ONLINE CE CLASS REMINDER!
All online CE classes are recorded and monitored. The following are reminders to ensure you receive your credit for the class:
- You must be signed in at least 5 minutes before class starts.
- Change your Zoom screen name to: "BAAR – [your name]."
- Your camera must remain on at all times (no photos).
- You cannot be distracted with other activities.
- You must be stationary and not driving.
- Do not log out during breaks as it requires re-entry.
Additionally, any cancellations must be received via email 24 hours prior to the start of the class or you will be charged for the class.

April is Fair Housing Month
This April and every April, REALTORS® recognize Fair Housing Month to commemorate the passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968. This landmark legislation is important today for the same reason it was fifty-seven years ago—it honors the principle that in the United States of America, no one should be denied housing because of who they are. Fair Housing Month is a time to renew our commitment to expanding homeownership opportunities and fostering inclusive communities.

Bright - MLS Research Commentary
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently reported that U.S. employers added 228,000 jobs in March, far surpassing analysts’ expectations. Despite growing concerns about economic uncertainty, job growth was robust across many sectors last month.
